Hey there - I’m Michael Lanahan. I’m an actor working and living in Los Angeles.
Michael Lanahan plays self-appointed senior vice-principal Mr. Penworth in Disney Channel’s series, “Just Roll With It” - now airing it’s 2nd season! The first-of-its-kind series is a hybrid of a scripted family comedy and an improvisational comedy in which the studio audience members vote on the outcome of certain scenes.
Lanahan is a well-known face on television and has been recurring on the CBS hit “Life in Pieces” as Dr. Nopunn, the Veterinarian, as well as roles on Better Call Saul, Perry Mason, Little Fires Everywhere, 9-1-1, American Horror Story, Fargo, Jersey Boys, The Office, & more.
Originally from Gaithersburg, Maryland, Lanahan graduated from Virginia Tech with a BA in Theatre Arts. An experienced stage actor, he’s been seen Off-Broadway, in regional theatres, & the great theatres of LA. In 2009, he spent nearly a year performing in “Louis & Keely: Live at the Sahara” at the Geffen Playhouse, directed by Oscar-winner Taylor Hackford.
Look for him in the big-budget films “Ford v Ferrari” and “Call of the Wild”.
He recently added author to his resume, with the release of the comedy book, “Daddy Drinks: Six Dads Trying To Get It Right While Getting It Hilariously Wrong”, co-authored by fellow actor-dads, from Post Hill Press - available on Amazon now!
In his spare time, Lanahan loves reading books, riding his bicycle along the beach, watching comic-book movies, and listening to history podcasts. He is very active in beach clean-up activities.
He currently resides in Redondo Beach with his wife and 8-year-old daughter.
